Crystal Rock Shop Art Craft

We have been here at Shop 195 on the first floor for quite a while now. Finding us can be a bit tricky if you aren't looking for the Parsi Fire Temple nearby, but once you get to Shreer Kalbadevi on RC Dutt Road, it’s easier. The stairs can be a bit steep sometimes, especially when carrying bags. We mostly spend our mornings unpacking new stones and art supplies that come in from the suppliers. It gets dusty pretty fast around here with all the road traffic and the windows open. People usually stop by looking for specific rocks or maybe some craft bits for a school project or a hobby. It's not a huge space, so things tend to get stacked up on the shelves pretty high. I try to keep it organized, but when we get a big shipment of beads or crystals, it takes a few days to get everything in its place. The light in the afternoon hits the shop windows just right, which makes the glass pieces and the minerals look nice on the shelves. We don’t really do fancy displays. It’s more about having what people need when they come in asking for a particular color or shape. Sometimes we sit and chat with the regulars about what they are making at home. It’s a quiet kind of work most days. We've seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but the temple across the way stays the same. Most people know us as the place on the first floor.
