Chicago Watch Co

Chicago Watch Co is located at 67/A Opposite the G P O on G M Road. We are right there in the Chembur West Fort area. It’s a bit of a landmark for some folks who have been around here for years. The name sounds big, but we are just a small shop with a couple of workbenches. Being opposite the GPO means we see a lot of people coming and going. People bring us watches that have been in their families for decades. Sometimes the metal is worn thin. We do what we can with the tools we have. It’s mostly manual work. My hands are usually a bit oily from the lubricants we use for the gears. We don’t have fancy air conditioning or anything like that. Just a fan and the sound of the street outside. Chembur is a busy part of the city, and the Fort area is always buzzing. We just stay in our little corner and focus on the tiny parts. It’s honest work. If a watch can be saved, we try to save it. If not, we tell the customer straight. No point in lying about it. We’ve seen all kinds of watches over the years, from cheap plastic ones to heavy gold ones. They all need a little care eventually. That is why we are still here on G M Road. We’ve been opening the doors at the same time every morning for as long as I can remember.
