It’s an old part of the city, and the building reflects that history. We’ve got some high ceilings and thick walls that keep things a little cooler, but it’s still Mumbai, so it’s always warm. We deal with exports, which sounds grand, but mostly it’s just a lot of checking boxes and making sure the crates are packed right. The compound has a few other businesses, so there’s a bit of a community feel. We know the chai wallah and the guys at the gate. Our office at Standard House isn't meant to look like a showroom. It’s a place where work actually happens. There are ledgers and old files everywhere. We take our time with things because rushing leads to mistakes in this line of work.
