Bhoomi Exports

We work out of D. T. House, which is house number 9 on a small road off Cardinal Gracious Road in Chakala. It’s officially the Andheri East area. To find us, you usually have to look for the old Calico Company building because we are right behind it. The office is registered under Bhoomi Bandodkar’s name. It’s a bit of a maze back here with all the different warehouses and small offices. We handle exports, which means we spend a lot of time on the phone with customs and shipping agents. The atmosphere in Chakala is very industrial. There’s always a truck backing up or someone loading crates nearby. Our space inside D. T. House is filled with samples and packing materials. It’s not the quietest place to work, but it feels productive. We often have to run out to meet people or check on goods in the nearby storage areas. Rain in Mumbai makes the walk to the main road a bit of a mess, but we are used to it. We aren't some big faceless company; it’s just us here making sure the orders are processed right. We’ve been in this spot for several years now. It’s a bit cramped with all the boxes, but we know where everything is. We just keep our heads down and get the job done. If the phones are ringing and the tea is hot, we are usually doing okay.
