Babu Handicrafts

You can find us at Shop No 8 in the Evershine Green building. We are located right across from Tandon Garage in Jogeshwari West. It is a noisy spot because of all the cars and bikes being fixed across the street, but it keeps things interesting. I have been running Babu Handicrafts for quite a few years now. The shop is small and it is basically packed from the floor to the ceiling with all sorts of items. We have wooden carvings, brass pieces, and other things made by hand from different parts of the country. I really like the smell of the wood when we get a new shipment in. It is a bit crowded in here, so I often have to move three or four boxes just to show someone a piece in the back. But that is just how it is. People come in looking for a gift or a small decoration for their home. I do not go in for big sales pitches. I just let people look around and see what they like. Sometimes we sit on stools out front and chat with the mechanics from the garage when things are slow. Jogeshwari is a busy place, so there is always dust coming in from the road. We spend a lot of time with a cloth, just wiping down the shelves. It is just me and one helper most of the time. We wrap everything in old newspapers for the customers. It is a simple business selling things made by hand.
