Apollo Times

Juhu Tara Road is always busy with traffic and people heading to the beach. Apollo Times is right here in the mix, specifically at B-4 Queens Park near S. N. D. T. College. People walk in for watch repairs or just to see what kind of new pieces we have on the shelves. We spend most of the morning dusting the glass cases and checking that the wall clocks are all showing the right time. The shop is a small place but we keep a lot of stock crammed into the cupboards. Sometimes students from the college come by because they need a quick battery change or a new strap. It’s a simple routine we have. We open up the shutters, have some tea from the stall nearby, and then wait for the first customer of the day. Juhu has changed a lot since I was younger, but this corner stays pretty much the same. The sea breeze comes through the door but it also brings a lot of salt and humidity which isn't great for the delicate metal parts of the watches. We have to be very careful about that. Most folks who live in Santacruz know where we are. We don't do much advertising because people usually just find us by walking past or hearing about us from a neighbor. It is quiet inside compared to the noise outside. We handle mostly wristwatches and some old clocks that people bring from their homes. It takes a lot of patience.
