We’re over in Bandra East, at Shama Manzil. It’s room 303. Navpada is a busy neighborhood, so there’s always something going on outside our window. Anisa Exports is a small operation. We focus on sending local products to different places. It involves a lot of weighing boxes and filling out customs forms. It’s not the most glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. There are only a few of us in the office. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. The building is older, so the elevator is a bit slow. We often just take the stairs. We don’t have a big mission statement on the wall. We just have a calendar with shipping dates marked in red ink. Sometimes we make mistakes on the paperwork and have to run down to the post office to fix it. We aren't perfect. We’re just trying to make a living and keep our vendors happy. We’ve been in Bandra for a long time and seen it change from a quiet area to what it is now. We like the energy here. Most of our day is spent making sure the packages are taped up tight and the addresses are correct. It’s simple work, and we like it that way. We don't need much more than that. The window doesn't close all the way, but the breeze is nice.
