I have been spending my days here at Anand Watch Co for quite a long time now. The shop is tucked away in Parel, right across from the Wadia Hospital. If you stand by our front door, you can see the hospital gates and all the people rushing in and out. It’s a noisy part of town, especially with all the traffic coming through Dana Bunder, but you get used to it after a while. Most of the time, I’m just sitting at my small wooden workbench with a magnifying glass stuck to my eye. It’s fiddly work, dealing with those tiny screws and springs that like to jump away if you aren’t careful. We get all sorts of watches coming through. Some are old ones that have been in families for years, and others are just cheap plastic ones that need a new battery. I don't mind either way. I just like the feeling of making something tick again. The shop isn't much to look at, just some glass cases with a few watches for sale and my tools scattered around. Sometimes the neighbors from around Parel stop in just to chat for a bit while I work. It’s a steady life, I suppose. I’ve seen the buildings around here get taller and the streets get more crowded, but inside this little shop, things stay pretty much the same as they always were. It’s just how I like it.
