Amar Gems & Crafts

Amar Gems & Crafts is located at 1, Abubakar Mansion on Mahakavi Bhushan Marg. We are right there near the Regal Cinema in Colaba, which is a place everyone knows. It’s a busy part of town, always full of tourists and locals walking around. Our shop isn't a giant showroom with bright lights and fancy carpets. It’s more of a traditional space where we keep our gems and the crafts we work on. We have been in Colaba for a long time. People stop by after seeing a movie or while they are out for a walk. We don't do much in the way of big ads. We just open up in the morning and wait to see who comes through the door. Some days are slow, and we just sit and work on small pieces. Other days are hectic. It’s a lot of manual work, looking at stones and figuring out the best way to use them. Abubakar Mansion is an old building, so it has that character you only get with age. We like being part of this neighborhood. It feels like we are part of the history here. We don't talk about being the best or having some grand mission. We just like what we do and we’ve been doing it this way for years. If you’re in Colaba, you can find us easily enough. We’ll likely be inside, probably cleaning something or sorting through stones. We just keep our heads down and work. It’s a quiet life in a loud city.
