Amar Exports

Our office for Amar Exports is located on the seventh floor of the R B Mehtha Mall in Ghatkopar. It’s a bit of a climb if the elevators are busy, which they usually are during the middle of the day. The space is mostly filled with cardboard boxes and sample products waiting to be sent out. We deal with a lot of paperwork because of the shipping and customs rules. It’s not as glamorous as it sounds; mostly it’s just me and a couple of others on our laptops or the phone. We have a large window that looks out over the neighborhood, which is nice when you need a break from looking at screens. The mall gets really busy on the lower floors with shoppers, but up here it stays fairly quiet. We get a lot of couriers coming in and out all day long. My desk is covered in tape dispensers and shipping labels. Sometimes the air conditioning is too cold and we have to wear sweaters even in the summer. We don't have a fancy showroom here, just a practical workspace where we manage the logistics. Lunch is usually a sandwich at the desk or something from the food court downstairs. It’s a fast-paced environment because everything has to be on time for the ships or planes. We try our best to keep everything moving smoothly without making too many mistakes on the addresses. It’s just how things work here.
