We've been here on Dharavi Shahibaugh Road for a good while now. Akash Handicraft is basically just us making things by hand. It started small. Most days you'll find someone busy in the back working on a new piece. People stop by to see what we've finished lately. It's not a big fancy showroom or anything like that. Just a workshop where we get things done. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded with materials, but that's how it goes when you're actually making things. We handle the daily work ourselves. My brother helps out too. It’s a lot of manual labor, honestly. We don’t really do much advertising. Most people find us because they live nearby or someone told them about the shop. The road out front can get busy with traffic, but it’s a good spot for us. We try to keep things simple. If someone needs a specific item, we talk it over and see if it's something we can actually manage. We don't take on more than we can handle because the quality suffers otherwise. It's just honest work. We've seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. We stay focused on what's right in front of us. No big corporate plans here, just keeping the shop running and making sure the items are solid. It's what we know how to do best, day in and day out.
