Sankar Tiles

Down in Idaiyapatti, you’ll find us at 24/5, Therkamoor. Sankar Tiles is basically just a local yard where we keep all the stock. We’ve got stacks of tiles everywhere. It’s a bit dusty, especially when the wind picks up across the open spaces in Therkamoor. People from around the village and nearby areas come to us when they’re building something new or fixing up an old floor. We don’t have a fancy showroom with air conditioning. It’s just the yard and a small office where we keep the receipts. My family and a few helpers run the place. We spend a lot of time lifting heavy boxes and showing people different patterns. Some days it’s quiet, and we just sit and drink tea, waiting for a customer. Other days, three tractors show up at once wanting loads. We try to be fair and just give people what they need. Idaiyapatti is a nice enough place to work, even if it’s a bit out of the way for some. We like being part of the community here. There isn't any corporate strategy behind what we do at Sankar Tiles. We just buy tiles, store them, and sell them to folks who need them. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. If you’re ever near Therkamoor, you’ll see our sign.
