Manju Granite

We are located at 26/8 on Sivagangai Road. It’s a busy road, and we get a lot of dust from the passing traffic, but it keeps us visible to everyone driving by. We started this granite business because we knew the stone trade well and wanted to work for ourselves. It’s just a few of us running the place. We don’t have a big fancy office; we usually just sit under the shade of the roof when we aren't moving slabs around. The sun can be pretty brutal out here, so we try to keep the water cooler full. Most of our customers are local folks building houses or contractors who need a specific type of stone for a job. We spend our days loading and unloading trucks. It’s heavy work and you have to be careful with your toes. We’ve had a few close calls over the years. We don’t really do anything besides granite. It’s what we know. We can tell you which slab has a crack you might not see at first or which one will look different once it's polished up. We aren't trying to be the biggest company around. There’s a tea stall not far from our gate where we go once or twice a day. It’s a good place to hear the local gossip. Our business isn’t anything fancy. We have the big saws and the water pipes, and that’s about it. We just focus on the stone and try to do a decent job for whoever walks in.
