Jain Stones

We spend most of our days here at the yard on Sivagangaii Main Road in Varichiyur. It is usually pretty loud because of the trucks moving in and out, but that is just how things go when you deal with heavy stones. If you walk past 79/1 or 79/3B, you will see us out there moving slabs around. It gets quite dusty, especially when the wind picks up off the road, so we are always cleaning things off. Most people who stop by are just looking for something solid for their floors or maybe a kitchen counter. We do not have a fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It is just a big open space where we keep the stock. Sometimes the sun is really beating down on the granite, making it almost too hot to touch, but we stay busy regardless. We have been in this spot for a while now and the locals know where to find us. It is hard work, lifting and measuring all day, and our clothes usually show it by the evening. We just try to keep things simple. If someone needs a piece of stone, they come in, look at what we have on the racks, and we talk about the size. There is no pressure here. It is just a regular business run by regular people who know a bit about rocks and how to move them.
