About Prp Granite Exports – Building & Construction Material in Madurai
Out here in Therkutheru Village, things are a bit quieter than in the city. Melur is a place where a lot of granite comes from, so we fit right in. We have a big area where we keep the export pieces. It’s mostly just dirt and stone out here. The sun gets really hot in the afternoons, and there isn't much shade when you're out by the slabs. We spend a lot of time checking the stone for cracks or spots. Since it’s for export, we have to be careful about what goes into the containers. The trucks come in and out of the village all the time. Sometimes the dust is everywhere. We live and work around here, so we know everyone. It’s not like a corporate office with air conditioning. We’re mostly outdoors or in a basic shed. We eat our lunch together and talk about the day's work. The granite is heavy and moving it takes a lot of coordination with the cranes. You have to respect the stone because it’s dangerous if you get careless. We’ve seen all kinds of colors and patterns over the years. Every block is a little different. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. We just keep at it, day after day, out here in Melur. There is always more stone to move and more crates to pack up for the journey.
