About Natural Granites – Building & Construction Material in Madurai
Our yard is over at 97/1 in Thuvarankulam Village, along the Sivagangai Road in Melur Taluk. It’s a bit out of the way for some, but it’s where we have the space for all the granite. We have big pieces of stone spread out across the property. Some are rough and some are polished, depending on what came in that week. The village is quiet mostly, except for when we’re moving the slabs around. We use a crane because you can’t move this stuff by hand. It’s heavy and can be dangerous if you aren’t paying attention. We’ve got a small hut where we keep our tools and a few chairs for when we take a break. The sun really hits the yard in the afternoon, so we try to get the hardest work done in the mornings. You can see the different veins in the granite when you spray them with a bit of water. It’s interesting how every piece is different. We don’t have any fancy sales people here. Usually, it’s just me or one of the guys showing people what’s in stock. We tell them the price and where the stone came from, and that’s about it. It’s a simple way to run things. The road outside is paved but the yard itself is mostly dirt and gravel. We’ve been here for years and the locals know we’re the ones with all the stone piled up.
