Murugan Granite

Down here in Melur, things move at their own pace. Murugan Granite has been sitting here for a good bit now. Dealing with stone is heavy work and it gets dusty. We spend most of our time out in the yard or moving slabs around with the crane. It’s hard on the hands and tires you out by evening. I think that's why we don't bother with a lot of talk. The yard is where everything happens. We get the granite in, and then we figure out where it goes next. People come by looking for something specific, and we show them what's available in the stacks. It isn’t a showroom with bright lights or anything. It’s just a place where we work. Some days the sun is really beating down on us out there. We take breaks when we can and drink some water. My father started this, and now I'm here doing the same stuff every day. We don’t do any big advertising or anything like that. Word of mouth is usually how people find us in Melur. It’s a honest way to spend the day. You learn a lot about the different types of stone just by being around them all the time. Every piece is a bit different. We just try to be fair and get the job done right. It's nothing fancy, just Murugan Granite. That’s how we like it. We hope to keep it going for many years to come.
