Manish Marbles

Down at 216, Anna Nagar, you can find the yard for Manish Marbles. It is mostly an outdoor space where we keep all the big slabs of marble and granite. Working with stone is heavy and tiring, but we have been doing it here for years. Anna Nagar is a busy neighborhood, so there are always people walking by or stopping to ask about the different colors of stone we have stacked up. We spend a lot of time moving these heavy pieces around with the rollers and the old crane. It gets quite messy when we have to cut or polish anything because the water and stone dust go everywhere. Our small office is just a tiny room near the gate where we keep the bills. There is usually a layer of white dust on the chairs. We don't mind it much. Customers come in and walk around the stacks to pick out what they like for their floors or counters. Some days the rain makes it hard to work outside, so we just wait it out. It is a simple business. We don't have any big advertisements or a polished website. Most people just know we are here at 216. We just try to get the stones delivered on time without any cracks. It is hard work but it keeps us busy.
