Raj Granite

We are over at No. 49 on Lakshmipuram 4th Street. It’s a regular residential kind of street, not a big main road. We have our granite stored there. Most days it’s just us and the sound of the stone being handled. It’s a local operation. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just focus on the granite slabs we have in stock. People from the neighborhood or nearby areas usually find us by word of mouth. The street is narrow, so when a truck comes, everything else has to stop. We spend our time measuring pieces and talking to contractors. Sometimes we get a bit of mud or dust on our clothes, but that’s just how it is with stone. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a shiny showroom. We just show the stone as it is. It’s heavy work, and by the end of the day, we’re pretty tired. We’ve been at this spot for a while. We know the locals and the way the sun hits the yard in the afternoon. Sometimes we just sit out front when things are slow. It’s a simple business. We just take care of the granite and try to help the people who walk in. That’s what our day looks like on 4th street. It is quiet work but it keeps us going throughout the year.
