Kiddie Castle

Kiddie Castle is right here at No 81 in Vivekananda Nagar. It’s a familiar spot for folks around K Pudhur in Madurai. If you walk by in the morning, you can usually hear a lot of noise. Kids are loud, that’s just how it is. We’ve got a few rooms set up for them to play and learn things. It isn't some high-tech facility, just a place with plenty of toys, some books, and people who actually care about what happens to the children. We spend our time making sure they’re safe and busy. Some days are more chaotic than others, especially when it rains and everyone has to stay inside. We’ve seen a lot of kids grow up and move on to the bigger schools nearby. It’s always a bit strange when they come back to visit and they’re suddenly taller than us. We keep things pretty simple here. We don't use a lot of fancy teaching methods that nobody understands. We just talk to them, show them how to share, and maybe draw some pictures. The walls are covered in those drawings, actually. It makes the place look a bit messy, but it’s a good kind of messy. Our neighbors are used to the sound of us singing or playing games. Madurai is a hot place, so we try to keep it cool inside. It’s just a normal day-to-day life for us here, looking after the little ones. By the time the parents come to pick them up, the energy is finally starting to wind down for the day.
