J. Gokul Mani Granites

Out here at No. 8, Anand Roy Nagar in S Kodikulam, the granite business keeps us on our toes. K Pudur is a decent place to work, though it can get pretty crowded during certain times of the day. Our yard is filled with various slabs that we’ve collected over time. It is mostly just us handling the day-to-day tasks like unloading new arrivals or showing a family different colors for their house. We don't go in for anything flashy. The office is just a place to keep the paperwork dry. People usually walk in from the street because they saw the sign or heard about us from someone else in the neighborhood. We spend a lot of time with measuring tapes in our hands. Every piece of stone has its own look, and we try to explain how it might change once it’s actually installed. The weather affects us quite a bit, especially when it rains and the yard gets a bit muddy, but we just keep moving. We have a small crew and we all know what needs to be done without talking too much about it. It’s honest work, and we like being part of the community here in Anand Roy Nagar. Sometimes the heavy lifting gets to your back, but seeing a finished load leave on a truck feels good. We just do what we do and try to stay organized.
