Global Stones

You can find us out on Sivagangai Road, right across from Fatima Engineering College in Sengottai Village. We occupy the space at 29/2A2 and 2B2. It’s a decent sized spot where we keep our stone collections. We aren't part of some huge international chain, despite the name Global Stones. We are just local people working with what we have. Most days are spent out in the yard checking the slabs for cracks or uneven spots. It’s manual labor, and we’re all used to the sun and the heavy lifting. We don’t have a glossy reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in the yard or in the small office area sorting out the delivery schedules. The road outside stays busy with students and commuters, so there’s always something going on. We like being in this part of the village. It’s a good community. Sometimes the equipment breaks down and we have to spend the afternoon fixing things instead of cutting stone. That’s just life here. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just provide stone to people who need it for their homes or businesses. It’s a simple trade that hasn't changed much over the years. We take it one day at a time and try to stay on top of the work. It gets loud with the saws running, but we're used to it.
