Duke Restaurant

We are located in the Duke Hotel building on North Veli Street, which is one of those parts of Madurai that never seems to sleep. Being near Sethupathi Higher Secondary School means we see a lot of students and teachers passing by every day. Duke Restaurant is a simple setup. We deal with the heat of Madurai just like everyone else, with fans humming and the kitchen doors swinging open and shut. It is a local spot where people come for a quick bite or a proper meal before heading to the station or back to work. The street outside is usually packed with buses and autos, so it is a bit of a relief to step inside. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just the menus and maybe a calendar. The floors are stone and the tables are easy to wipe down. Our cooks have been with us for years, and they know the recipes by heart, so things taste the same every time you come in. We aren't part of some big chain. It is just a Madurai business through and through. We open up early to get things ready for the morning crowd and we don't close until late at night. If you are walking down North Veli Street, you can't really miss the hotel building. It is a good landmark.
