We are right on the Main Road in Manali, not too far from Day Star School. Pangi Vaishno Dhaba is a small place, but we get a lot of people coming in, especially tourists who are heading up into the mountains. Being in Manali, the weather can get pretty cold, so we try to keep the dhaba warm and inviting. It’s a vegetarian spot, which is what "Vaishno" means for those who aren't from around here. We don't serve anything fancy. It’s just the kind of food we eat at home. The kitchen is small, so you can often hear the pots and pans clanking from the seating area. My wife and I started this because we liked the idea of feeding people. We see a lot of students from the school nearby too. They usually come in for a quick snack or some tea. The traffic on the main road can be a bit much during the peak season, but we’ve gotten used to the noise. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. Most people just walk in because they smell the cooking. It’s a simple life running a dhaba in the hills. We don't really worry about being the best or anything. We just want to make sure the food tastes right and the customers are satisfied with what they get. It is just a modest place where you can get a hot meal.
