Lakshmi Foods

Lakshmi Foods is located in Mananadavady, very close to the Valliyoorkavu Temple. During the festival times, the whole area gets incredibly crowded with people and vehicles, and it can be hard to even get to our front door. The rest of the year, it’s a lot calmer. We work out of a modest building where we process various food items. It isn't a factory with hundreds of workers. It’s just a small team of us who know each other well. We spend our days sorting, cleaning, and packing. The temple bells are a constant background noise for us, which is actually quite nice. We have lived and worked in Mananadavady for a long time, so we know most of the families who live nearby. Our setup is pretty basic. We have some sturdy wooden tables and a few machines that have seen a lot of use over the years. We don't spend money on fancy packaging or big ads. We just focus on getting the food ready and making sure the workspace is kept as clean as possible. Sometimes we run out of supplies and have to wait for the truck to come up the winding roads to reach us. It’s a slow pace of life here compared to the big cities, but that is exactly how we like it. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
