Dreams Caterers

Dreams Caterers is situated near Shasheendra Bank in Kakkodi, Kozhikode. It’s a small operation we’ve got going here. The location is pretty easy to find if you know where the bank is. We’ve been working out of this spot for a while. The kitchen isn't anything like what you see on TV; it's just a functional space with big pots and a couple of sturdy tables. We spend our mornings getting everything prepped. There’s always a lot of washing and cutting to do before the actual cooking starts. Kakkodi is a nice area, a bit quieter than the middle of the city. We like it that way. We don't have a big staff, just a few local people who help out when things get busy. We don't really do much promotional stuff. We figure if the work is okay, people will talk. Sometimes the shop gets a bit cluttered with all the supplies, especially right before a big weekend. We try to keep it organized, but it’s a constant battle. We don't have a fancy office or a receptionist to greet people. Usually, someone just shouts from the back if they hear the door. It’s a very informal way of doing things, but it’s how we’ve always done it. We just focus on getting through the day and making sure the next day's supplies are ordered. There's always a list on the wall of things we need to buy. We try to stay ahead of the schedule so we don't fall behind.
