We are located at Valiyaparambil, over by the NGO Quarters in Merikkunnu. It’s building number 33/2512 B. Being in Kozhikode, food is always on everyone's mind, so we fit right in. We spend our days preparing various food items. It’s a lot of traditional work. We don't use many shortcuts here. The kitchen area is always busy from five in the morning. We have a lot of big pots and pans that need scrubbing constantly. The staff is mostly people from around the neighborhood who walk to work. It feels more like a community project than a big company sometimes. We don’t have a website or a fancy marketing team. Most of our work comes from people just knowing where we are. The Merikkunnu area is quite green, which is nice when we take our breaks outside. We have to deal with the usual stuff, like the water supply being low or the spice grinder acting up. We just fix it and keep going. We don't talk much about our values; we just show up and cook. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting sacks of grain and sugar. By the time we head home, we usually smell like whatever we were making that day. It's a living and we're okay with that. Sometimes the neighbors come by for some extra batter or just to chat about the local news.
