You can find us over on Paninala Street in Jeypore. We share a space with Bamadeba Sahu. We are a bunch of farmers from the Koraput area who decided to pull our efforts together. The land around here is good for growing all sorts of things, and we’ve been doing it for as long as we can remember. We called ourselves Koraput Smile because we wanted something that felt positive for our community. Our office isn't anything special, just a place to sit and talk about the business side of farming. Most of our time is spent out on the actual farms around Jeypore. We aren't corporate people with big degrees; we are people who know how to work the dirt. We deal with the daily struggles of farming, like the rain not coming on time or the pests getting into the crops. It’s a tough job but it’s ours. We wanted to make sure that the farmers here have a better way to get their stuff to the market. We don't use fancy marketing talk or try to sound like we are bigger than we are. We are just a local group trying to make things work. Everyone knows us on Paninala Street, and we like being part of the neighborhood. It’s a simple setup, and we keep things honest and direct. We just keep farming and hope for the best each year. This is our life in Koraput.
