Satnami Street is where we call home. It’s in Papadahandi, part of the Nabarangpur district. Our company is Agriworld Dost. We’re what they call a farmer producer company, which basically means we’re a group of local people working together. Plot 2447/4242 is where we keep our office. It’s a simple place on Word No.03. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles or fancy computers. We’re mostly farmers ourselves, so we know what it’s like to work the land day after day. We started this because we wanted a better way to handle our produce and our supplies. It’s not always easy work. Sometimes the meetings go on for hours because everyone has a different opinion on what to do. We don't have a big boss in a suit giving orders. We make decisions together over tea in the afternoons. The office floor is usually a bit dusty from people coming in from the fields. Nabarangpur can be quite rural, so we rely on each other a lot for everything. We don't use fancy marketing terms or try to sound bigger than we are. We’re just a bunch of neighbors trying to help each other get a fair price and good materials for the season. Sometimes the computer acts up and we have to wait for the young guy to come fix it. That’s just life here. We’re proud of what we’re building, piece by piece, on Satnami Street. It’s a community effort more than anything else. We stay busy.
