We are the Nari Pragati Producer Company Limited. You can find us at Ashok Kumar Palo’s place on Pailo Street in Borigumma. It’s right in the Koraput district. This company was started by the women in the area who wanted to do something for themselves. We work on all sorts of local products and farming stuff. Being on Pailo Street means we are right in the heart of the community. People drop by all the time to see what’s going on. We don't have a lot of fancy things. Our meetings happen in a simple room with some fans and old chairs. We talk about how to get our products to the bigger markets and how to help each other out with the money side of things. Koraput is a beautiful place but it can be hard to make a living here. We have to work really hard to get things moving. Sometimes we sit until late at night figuring out the accounts. It’s not just a business for us, it’s about making sure our families are okay. We’ve faced plenty of challenges, especially with getting the right prices. But the women here are strong and we don't give up easily. We just keep doing our work, one day at a time, right here in Borigumma. Anyone in the street can show you where we meet if you're looking.
