Varnin Threads Private Limited is situated on the 7th floor of 16 Strand Road, which is in the Fairley Place area of B.B.D Bagh. If you know Kolkata, you know how hectic this part of the city can be. We are in Unit 707A, high above the noise of the street, but you can still hear the trams and the horns if the windows are open. Dealing with threads is what we do all day long. The office is filled with shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, all packed with different types of threads. It is a bit of a maze inside. We spend a lot of time on the phone with factories and traders. The lift in this building is quite old and sometimes you have to wait a while, so we usually take the stairs if we are in a hurry. B.B.D Bagh is full of history, and our building has that old Kolkata charm, even if the paint is peeling in some corners. We do not have any polished corporate brochures. Our work speaks for itself when the thread reaches the looms. Most of the staff has been with us for years, and we have our own way of doing things that might seem disorganized to an outsider but works for us. We just keep the thread moving from the 7th floor out to the rest of the world and handle the daily grind.
