Sng Fashions is tucked away on Nandan Road in the Bhowanipur area of Calcutta. If you know this part of the city, you know it is full of life and old charm. Our building at 10/B is where we handle the clothing business. It is usually a bit of a mess with fabric rolls, thread, and samples laying around on different tables. We are not a big factory, just a private company trying to get our orders out on time. The sounds of sewing machines and people talking over each other are pretty constant during the day. Sometimes the heat in the workshop gets intense, so we keep the windows open, even if it brings in the dust from Nandan Road. We have a small team of people who have been with us for years. We know who is good at cutting and who is better at finishing the details. It is a hands-on kind of place. We do not have a fancy showroom here; it is mostly just the production side of things. People come in and out to deliver supplies or pick up finished pieces. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay on top of the schedule. Bhowanipur is a busy neighborhood, and we are right in the middle of it, just doing our thing with clothes and fashion every day without too much fuss.
