Urjoshi

If you are walking around Salt Lake City near Tank No. 13, you might run into our place. We are located at Ha-23 in Sector-Iii, right near Anindita More. It is a busy part of Kolkata and there is always something going on outside. Urjoshi isn't a very large shop but we try to keep it filled with things people might find useful. The weather here can get really humid, so we spend a lot of time just keeping the place tidy and making sure everything is in its right spot. We don’t have a fancy website or anything like that. People mostly find us because they live nearby or they are heading toward the tank. Sometimes we sit outside on the little steps when business is quiet. We see the same faces every morning and evening. It feels good to be part of the neighborhood. We have been here for a bit and we’ve seen the streets change, but our shop stays pretty much the same. We have a lot of items crammed onto the shelves, and sometimes you have to ask where something is because it’s tucked away behind something else. My cousin helps out when it gets crowded. We just do our work, talk to the customers about the weather or the local news, and then close up when it gets dark. It is a simple way to spend the day in this part of town. We just keep our heads down and keep the shelves stocked for whoever walks in next.
