Urban Style

Urban Style is tucked away in Garia at C/11, Raj Narayan Park. It’s a quiet enough spot compared to the main roads, which we like. When we opened up here, we wanted a place where we could just handle our business and talk to the locals who walk by. The shop is filled with whatever we are stocking this week. It might look a bit crowded to some, but we know where everything is. We don’t have a massive staff, just a few of us who take turns opening up and sweeping the front. Dealing with clothes and styles means things are always changing, so we spend a lot of time unpacking boxes and tagging items. Sometimes the shipment is late, or the colors aren't quite what we thought, but that’s just part of the retail life in Kolkata. We have regulars who come in just to see what’s new or to have a quick chat about the neighborhood news. The fan in the back makes a bit of a clicking noise, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We aren't a big mall store with bright lights and music. It’s just a normal shop where you can find something decent to wear. We try to keep the prices fair and the atmosphere relaxed. If we’re busy, you might have to wait a minute, but we always get to everyone eventually. It is just the way we like to run things here.
