Salah Exports

We are up on the 2nd floor at No. 89 Topsia Road. Salah Exports is just a few rooms filled with boxes and samples. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow. If you come by to see us, you’ll probably see us packing things into brown boxes. Topsia Road is always crowded and noisy. There are trucks and motorbikes everywhere you look. We deal with a lot of paperwork for the shipping part of the business. It’s mostly just making sure the numbers on the papers match what's in the boxes. We have a small office area with a couple of old desks. It’s usually covered in invoices and pens. We try to keep things organized but when a big shipment is due to leave, it gets very hectic. We don’t have a fancy showroom for people to look at. It’s just a place where business gets done. Sometimes the air conditioning doesn't work well in the heat and it gets very stuffy. We just open the windows and let the street noise in. The view from the 2nd floor isn't much, just more grey buildings and the road. We've been in this exact spot for several years now. It suits what we do. We know the neighbors and the tea stall guy downstairs. We spend most of our time talking to people on the phone about their orders. It’s a lot of back and forth. But we get it done eventually. It’s not a glamorous job, just exporting. We stay busy enough.
