Taton

Taton is located at 59/60 Bagmari Road in the Kankurgachi area. If you know where the Ultadanga Hudco Bus Stop is, we are very close to that. It’s a column intersection and there’s always a lot of people waiting for buses or crossing the street. Our shop is just a bit away from the main noise. It’s a small place where we sell various things. We’ve been at this Bagmari Road address for several years. The building is a bit older, so the walls have a bit of character. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of big fans that stay on all day. It can get pretty hot in May, but we get used to it. The people who stop by are usually locals or commuters waiting for their next bus. We have a counter where we keep the most popular items. Sometimes we run out of things and have to wait for the next delivery truck, which can be slow because of the traffic at Ultadanga. We don't really have a big team, just a couple of us who take turns being here. We know the other shop owners on the block and we often share a cup of tea in the quiet hours of the afternoon. It’s a steady business. No one is trying to get rich quick here; we just provide what the neighborhood needs. It’s a simple life and we like the people who visit us.
