You can find Santa Maria Fashion Pvt. Ltd. at 46/e Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road. We are in the Shivam Building on the 1st floor. The stairs are a bit narrow and the paint is peeling in some spots, but it’s a sturdy building. Being on the first floor is good because we don’t have to climb too high with the heavy rolls of cloth. Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road is always packed with vehicles, so there is a lot of exhaust and noise coming through the front windows. We usually keep the curtains drawn to keep the heat out. Inside, it’s mostly just us and the sewing machines. We have some racks where we hang the finished samples. The lighting is a bit yellow and old, but it does the job. My desk is right near the entrance, so I see everyone who comes in and out. We spend a lot of time just measuring things and talking about the fits. It’s a busy atmosphere but not in a fancy corporate way. It’s more of a workshop feel. We have a small fridge for our water and lunches. Sometimes we stay late when there is a lot to finish, and the street gets a bit quieter then. The Shivam Building has other offices too, so we see the same people in the hallways every day. It’s just a normal place where we come to work and do our bit. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can.
