Sunrise Apparels

Sunrise Apparels is located on C.I.T. Road in the Moulali area of Kolkata. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s always busy and there’s always something going on. We work out of a space where the sound of sewing machines is pretty much the soundtrack to our day. It’s not a fancy boutique with a lot of glass and chrome. It’s a practical place where we focus on getting the clothes made and ready for whoever needs them. We spend a lot of time dealing with rolls of fabric and patterns spread out on big tables. Sometimes the heat in Kolkata makes the work feel a bit slower, but we have our routines to keep things moving. We drink a lot of tea from the stall nearby, and that helps us get through the long afternoons. The staff here has been with us for years, so we all know how to work around each other without saying much. We deal with all sorts of people, from wholesalers to individuals who just want a few things made. It’s a bit messy sometimes, with threads on the floor and scraps of cloth everywhere, but that’s just how a working shop looks. We don't put on a show for anyone. We just open the doors, do the work, and hope the traffic on C.I.T. Road isn't too bad when it's time to head home.
