Stylish

The name is Stylish, but we are just a regular shop at 1/1 Ariff Road in Ultadanga. We are really close to Muchi Bazar, so you can imagine how busy it gets around here. There is always the sound of people buying vegetables and rickshaws going past. Our place is quite small, honestly. You walk in and there are the chairs and the mirrors. We don’t have a lot of space for a big waiting area. People usually just stand outside or squeeze onto the small bench if it is free. We have been here for a bit, and we know the Muchi Bazar crowd well. Usually, it’s a lot of workers and local residents who just want a quick haircut without any fuss. We don’t use any complicated machines or expensive products. It is just the basics. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that is just how it is in this part of Kolkata. The floor is tiled but some of them are cracked. We don’t mind it much. The lights are bright enough so we can see what we are doing. We talk to everyone, from the older uncles to the college boys. Everyone has a story about the market or the traffic on Ariff Road. It is a loud, busy, and honest place to work. We are just here every day from morning till the market starts to close up.
