Sita Fashions Pvt. Ltd. is located on the second floor of No. 35 Jamunalal Bajaj Street. If you know the area, you know it is a tight squeeze with all the shops and people moving around. Our floor is usually a bit of a chaotic scene, especially when new shipments of fabric arrive. There are bolts of cloth leaning against the walls and stacks of finished garments ready to be packed into boxes. The air usually smells like new cotton and maybe a bit of dust from the street outside. We have a few sewing machines set up near the windows to catch the light, though the buildings across the street are so close you do not get much sun. It is a family-run kind of vibe here, even if we are a private limited company on paper. Most of the staff have been working together for years, so we have developed our own way of doing things that might look messy to an outsider but works for us. The stairs leading up to the second floor are steep and narrow, so carrying heavy bundles up and down is a daily workout. We do not have a showroom with mannequins; it is more of a working warehouse and production space. We spend our days checking quality, counting stock, and making sure the orders are ready for the wholesalers. It is hard work and the fans never seem to be enough in the heat.
