Desire

We are located in Prafulla Kanan West, specifically on the ground floor of Block- A B 61. The shop is called Desire, and it’s a place where we keep a variety of things that people in the neighborhood might need. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful about how we stack the shelves so people can actually walk around. We’ve been in this part of Kolkata for a while, and we’ve gotten to know the families who live in the nearby blocks. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website; we just open the shutters every morning and wait for people to stop by. Sometimes it’s busy and we have several people trying to look at things at once, and other times it’s quiet enough to read the newspaper. We try to keep the stock interesting, but we don't always get it right. If someone asks for something we don't have, we try to find it for them next time. The shop has a big window that looks out onto the street, so we see everyone passing by. It’s a simple life running a small shop like this. We have a few fans going to keep the heat away, and we keep things as tidy as possible. We don't make big promises; we just try to be a reliable place where our neighbors can shop for what they want.
