Madhumita

You can find us right on the ground floor at 57 Radha Bazar Street. We are very close to the post office, which makes it easy for people to locate us in this maze of streets. Madhumita has been a part of this market for a long time. The shop is small and usually smells like old paper and incense. We deal with various items, mostly things that people come to Radha Bazar to find, like small parts or accessories. There are always people walking past the door, and it gets very loud with all the shouting and horn-honking outside. We have a small wooden counter where we show our goods to the customers. Sometimes there is not even enough room for more than three people to stand inside. We keep most of our stock in boxes under the tables. It is a bit of a squeeze, but we are used to it by now. My father started this and he still comes in sometimes to sit in the corner and watch. We do not have any fancy displays or bright lights. Just a couple of bulbs and some old shelves. It is a simple business. We open the shutters in the morning and wait for the regulars to show up. It is just how life is here in the heart of the market. We take pride in just being here every day.
