Amrapali Creations

I started Amrapali Creations on Nimchand Moitra Street because I wanted to make things that people in Alambazar would actually use. It is a busy corner of the neighborhood and we have been at number 17 for quite a while now. We do not have a big glass front or a fancy lobby. Mostly, it is just rolls of fabric and sewing machines sitting everywhere. Sometimes the tea guy comes by twice before I even look up from what I am doing. It is a bit messy in here, to be honest. But if you are looking for something specific, I usually know exactly which pile it is sitting under. My aunt used to say I should be more organized, but this is just how it works for us. Neighbors know where we are. We do what we can with the tools we have. If a stitch is off, we fix it right then and there. No big corporate rules or long manuals to follow. Just me and a couple of people working every day. The traffic outside is always loud and you can hear the rickshaws passing by all day long. It is a real place. We are not trying to be some big fashion house or anything like that. It is just Amrapali Creations. People bring their own ideas sometimes and we talk about it. Usually, we can make it work. Life is simple here and we just keep our heads down and work.
