Vasant Emporium

Vasant Emporium is at 71, Canning Street. If you know this area, you know how busy it gets. Canning Street is always full of life, with people and goods moving every which way. Our place at number 71 is an old building. It has high ceilings but the rooms are a bit narrow. We’ve been here for a long time and the floors are a bit worn down from all the walking. Vasant Emporium is just the name we’ve always used. We don't have any big glowing signs. Just the address 71 on the door. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze with everything we have stored. We use every bit of space we can find. It’s not a fancy showroom. It’s a real working shop where things happen every day. The light from the street is often blocked by the tall buildings nearby, so it can be a bit dim inside. We use some old fans to keep the air moving because it gets quite stuffy. We know the other shop owners on Canning Street and we often talk to them during the slow parts of the day. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just show up at 71, Canning Street and get to work. It’s a lot of lifting and counting and talking to people who drop by. It’s our way of life here.
