We are located at No. 35 Jamunalal Bazaz Street, right on the second floor. If you know this area, you know how tight the streets are and how many people are moving around at any given time. Getting up to the second floor with heavy bags of clothes is a workout every single day. Sita Fashion is a busy place, especially during the middle of the week when things get frantic. We have rows of racks and piles of stock that seem to grow every time we look at them. The building is old, like most of the ones on this street, and the stairs are narrow. We don't have a lot of space for a fancy office, so our desks are tucked right in between the garment bags and boxes. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking through the inventory lists to see what’s going out. The fans on the ceiling hum all day long to keep the air moving in the heat. It’s a lot of manual work, moving boxes and checking labels to make sure everything is headed to the right place. We see a lot of the same faces coming through the door, which is nice because it makes the day go by faster. Jamunalal Bazaz Street is a hub for this kind of thing, and we’ve become a small part of the furniture here. We just focus on getting the orders ready and keeping the piles from falling over.
