You can find us over at 80 Adyanath Saha Road in the Lake Town area of Kolkata. We share the space with Snehasis Saha, so it is a bit of a mixed-up spot if you aren't familiar with the street. Lake Town is a nice part of the city, but the roads get really cramped during the peak hours, especially when the rains come down hard. We spend our days surrounded by fabric and thread. Making shirts might sound easy to some, but it is actually a lot of repetitive work that needs a steady hand. The sewing machines are running almost all day long, creating a constant hum in the background of everything we do. We aren't a big corporate giant with a glass building; we are just here on this road doing the work we know how to do. Some days the fabric doesn't arrive on time and we have to shuffle the schedule around, which is always a bit of a headache. We have workers who have been with us for years, people who know how a collar should sit or how a cuff should be stitched without even thinking about it. It is just regular people trying to make a living in a busy city like Kolkata. We don't have much time for fancy talk. We just want to get the shirts boxed up and sent out so we can start on the next batch tomorrow morning.
