Shila International

Shila International is located at 233/3 on AJC Bose Road, which many people still call Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani. We are right across from Gorky Sadan. It’s a very well-known spot in Kolkata, so finding us is usually not too hard for people. The building has been here for a long time. We handle the daily operations of the place ourselves. It is not some big corporate hotel with hundreds of staff members. It’s a smaller setup where we know what’s happening in every room. We spend our time checking people in, making sure the linens are clean, and dealing with whatever repairs come up. AJC Bose Road is always full of traffic, so it can be quite noisy outside, but that’s just life in this part of the city. We don't have a polished mission statement or anything like that. We just try to provide a place for people to stay when they are in the 700020 area. Sometimes guests come for work and sometimes they are just passing through. We focus on the basics like keeping the lights on and the water running. It’s a lot of mundane work, but someone has to do it. We aren't trying to be the fanciest place in Kolkata. We are just a practical option for travelers who need to be near Gorky Sadan. It is just a straightforward place to stay for a night.
