Sashikala Emporium Llp

We've been at 5B Muktaram Babu Lane for a while now. It’s one of those spots in Kolkata where the streets are always crowded, especially when the rickshaws and delivery vans are trying to squeeze through at the same time. Our place, Sashikala Emporium, isn't anything fancy to look at from the outside, but inside we stay busy. We mostly deal with textiles and clothes. Most days start early with tea from the stall around the corner before we get to sorting through the new arrivals. The fans stay on high because it gets pretty stuffy in here, especially in the afternoons. We aren't a big corporation with thousands of employees. It’s just us and a few helpers who know where everything is kept. If you walked in, you’d probably see stacks of fabric reaching almost to the ceiling and someone marking things down in a ledger. We don't spend much time on fancy websites or advertisements because word of mouth in this part of town still works better than anything else. People know we are here, and they know what we do. It’s just how things have always been run here. We try to keep things simple, making sure orders get packed right and sent out on time. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, and we just wait it out, chatting until the lights come back on. It’s a regular life, working hard in a busy part of the city.
