We are located on the ground floor of 97 Park Street. If you’ve walked down Park Street, you probably know the area. It’s always crowded and there’s a lot of energy. Our shop is full of sarees of all kinds. We don't have those fancy mannequins you see in the big malls. We mostly have shelves and shelves of fabric stacked up to the ceiling. We spend our days unfolding silk and cotton for customers and then folding it all back up again, which takes a lot longer than you’d think. My hands are usually a bit rough from handling the cloth all day long. We’ve been here for quite some time now. Some of our customers have been coming to us since they were young, and now they bring their own daughters. We don't do big advertisements or anything. We just rely on people knowing that we’re here on the ground floor. The air conditioning sometimes struggles when the shop is full, but we make do. We like the buzz of Park Street, even if the traffic is a nightmare most days. It’s just us and the fabric. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just know which colors look good together and how to tell if a weave is decent. It’s a simple life of measuring and cutting and chatting with the people who walk through the door.
