Sarmi

Sarmi is located at 15 E, Kali Charan Sett Lane. If you are coming from the Dum Dum Station, it is just a short walk away. Being so close to the station means there is always a lot of movement and people rushing around. You can hear the trains and the announcements sometimes if the wind is blowing the right way. The lane is one of those typical Kolkata streets where everything is close together. Our shop is small and simple. We have a wooden counter and a few chairs for the customers. It’s a place where we do a bit of everything related to beauty. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that, so the name is just written on a board outside. Inside, we have some mirrors and some shelves for the lotions and shampoos we use. It can get quite hot in the summer, so the ceiling fan is always on full speed. We know most of the people who walk past the door every day. Sometimes they just pop their head in to say hello. It’s a friendly atmosphere. We try to keep the place organized, but with the station so close, things get a bit busy and messy sometimes. The floor is a bit uneven in one corner, but nobody really cares. We have a small stool for the bags. It's just a normal shop in a busy lane.
